Discovered in 1965, then flitted out and opened to the public in 1973, the Foissac prehistoric cave constitutes a remarkable natural subterranean museum. As head of an active hydrogeological network explored on 10 km until now, the section fitted out for tourism is isolated from the other galleries by some impenetrable screes.
The Foissac cave is located at the surface after a several kilometer passage which flows undermeath the Lot Valley.
During more than one hour, the guide will présent to you some geology, mineralogy, and archeology notions which will allow you to understand the site and to better appreciate is beauty.
